Xbox One Games For May 2016: 'Battleborn,' 'Doom,' 'Overwatch,' 'Homefront: The Revolution,' 'The Park' And More

April saw the arrival of some of the best Xbox One games out there, including Quantum Break and Dark Souls 3, with Tales from the Borderlands and Hitman: Episode 2 coming hot on their heels. Now, the month of May has a lot in store for gamers everywhere, and the roster is arguably on par or even better in terms of anticipation.

Without dragging on any further, here are some of the Xbox One games for May 2016 that fans wouldn't want to miss:

Battleborn

Battleborn is an online first-person shooter, and it's the second original game from Gearbox Software, the folks behind the Borderlands series.

To show just how popular this title is, more than 2 million players participated in the open beta phase.

Release Date: May 3

Preorder: Available in Standard Edition for $59.99 and Deluxe Edition for $74.99.

Season Pass: Available for $19.99.

Doom

It's next to impossible to find anyone who isn't aware of the modern take of id Software's classic and gory shooter Doom. The good news here is that fans can soon take on demons and undead foes again in a few weeks' time.

Preorder: Available in Standard Edition for $59.99 and Collector's Edition for $119.99.

Season Pass: Available.

Overwatch

Overwatch is Blizzard's answer to the ever-rising first-person shooter genre, adding in a slew of unique heroes that'll go head-to-head in the battlefield with special weapons and skills.

Release Date: May 24

Preorder: Available in Standard Edition for $39.99, Origins Edition for $59.99 and Collector's Edition for $129.99 but retailer prices may vary.

Homefront: The Revolution

Similar to The Division, Homefront: The Revolution is an open-world first-person shooter. It's the sequel to the original Homefront that launched back in March 2011.

Release Date: May 17

Preorder: Available in Standard Edition for $59.99, Goliath Edition for $159.99 and Freedom Fighter bundle for $79.99.

Season Pass: Included in the Goliath Edition.

The Park

The Park is a single-player horror set in a closed-down amusement park with a disturbing past.

While it's already available on the PC via Steam for $12.99, it has yet to roll out to the console.

Release Date: May 3

Fallout 4: Far Harbor

Dubbed as the "largest landmass for an add-on," Far Harbor is the third DLC following Automatron and Wasteland Workshop for Fallout 4. Though it's technically more of a DLC than a full game, it deserves to be included in the mix, as it's one of the most anticipated releases this year.

Release Date: Sometime in May for $24.99.

Season Pass: Available as part of the $49.99 Season Pass that includes Automatron and Wasteland Workshop.

Tropico 5 - Penultimate Edition

A lot of people probably already know of the country-managing game Tropico 5, as it did get released back in 2014. Now, the Penultimate Edition is coming this year for the Xbox One, bringing in the full game, five DLC packs and five exclusive maps.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan

The heroes in a half shell are back for more hack-and-slash action in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan.
