Motorola's upcoming Moto G4 started to surface online recently, and the latest leak now offers a high-quality image that shows the entire smartphone in white.
The Moto G line has proved quite successful so far, as it consists of affordable smartphones with good specifications. Motorola has gradually improved its offering with each new iteration, and the upcoming Moto G4 will take things to the next level.
After seeing the smartphone surface online in leaked images that showed its display, fingerprint scanner and rear camera, a new render now offers a better look at the white Moto G4.
This is likely the clearest image yet of the purported smartphone, and it comes from trusted tipster Evan Blass, aka @evleaks. If the Moto G4 initially leaked in blurry cam images, the latest one looks like a high-quality press render and it shows the smartphone in full, not just some parts of it.
Based on this image, the white Moto G4 will have the familiar Motorola logo right below the camera, will sport the power button and volume rocker on its right side, and feature a front-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in its home button. This falls in line with previous leaks regarding the smartphone's design.
Judging by the comments following @evleaks' post, however, it seems that Motorola fans would prefer a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner rather than a front one.
The render also stirred some mixed reactions related to the handset's design. While some commenters say it looks beautiful, others argue that it looks bad and "Lenovo-fied" and Motorola could've done a better job.
As a reminder, Motorola is now owned by Lenovo and its new parent company stirred quite some controversy early this year, when it announced plans to phase out the Motorola brand. Lenovo later explained its plans for the "next chapter as a brand," and Moto is here to stay.
The Moto G4 may offer a better glimpse of Lenovo's plans for Motorola and its devices, including the slightly "Lenovo-fied" aspect that may be the norm from now on.
It remains unclear for now, however, just when the Moto G4 will officially hit the scene, or what specifications it will sport when it does. Motorola has yet to make any announcement or comment in this regards, so it's all still in the rumor state at this point.
It will also be interesting to see whether Motorola manages to maintain the same level of customization it offered so far through Moto Maker.
Until Motorola is ready to offer some answers or make a formal announcement, take everything with a grain of salt.
