Blues and Bullets is hitting the PlayStation 4 on April 19, launching its first two episodes.
The game, which is an episodic noir adventure title, will feature the fictional U.S. city Santa Esperanza and lead character Eliot Ness. Dani Candil and Dani Castellanos from A Crowd of Monsters are the game's directors.
Blues and Bullets is a 1920s-inspired noir adventure game wherein players should be able to guide Eliot on his quest for clues to solve the case of children who mysteriously disappeared.
"When one day children start to disappear and the police just turns a blind eye to this, Eliot decides to take justice into his own hands and find, by any means necessary, the culprit and bring him to justice," states the game description on its official site.
Eliot Ness, who used to be the leader of the legendary Untouchables, was said to be responsible for putting Al Capone behind bars. Now, all Eliot wants is to spend the rest of his days quietly and peacefully working on his diner while he tries hard to put the past behind him.
However, plans have changed and Eliot found himself entangled with the familiar air of a dark past.
Players can expect to see Eliot getting involved in gunfights and dealing with hoodlums and assassins in a unique setting that will only feature a trio of colors: black, white and red. According to the game's directors, the color idea is inspired by the old illumination techniques that were also used by film directors during the 1940s in their attempt to capture the essence of noir.
"Immerse yourself in this black and white adventure with splashes of red that will make the unfolding of the story a delight to your senses," said Blues and Bullets's website.
Some of the key features that players can expect from the game include impressive visual aesthetics; unique approach to the cinematic narrative; vibrant game mechanics; intense shootouts between the hardened detective and mysterious enemies; decision making opportunity; interaction with numerous characters; and a dark story where love and death co-exist.
The game's OST is a blues-inspired theme created by audio production outfit Sonotrigger, with lyrics and vocals provided by Spanish singer Izä.
"She is not the usual Blues singer and this is her main strength because she can sing a Blues with a fresh style," says Damian Sanchez, a composer at Sonotrigger.
Blues and Bullets is also available on Steam, where players can get all of the game's five episodes.
