Sprint customers in New York City can now enjoy the carrier's LTE Plus Network, as the company expanded the service to the Big Apple.
The move makes the carrier's faster, stronger, and more reliable service now available in 191 markets nationwide.
With Sprint's LTE Plus Network, customers can take advantage of the carrier's rich triband spectrum portfolio while using some of the most advanced wireless technologies in the world today.
"In the past few months we made tremendous improvements across the entire metropolitan area, and we're committed to providing The City That Never Sleeps with an exceptional wireless experience," says Günther Ottendorfer, technical chief operating officer at Sprint.
In order to expand the service in the city, Sprint employs two-channel carrier aggregation on over 900 2.5 GHz cell sites. This way, more traffic is achieved at a faster speed using Sprint's pipelines. The carrier also uses the so-called "beamforming" technology on its smart antenna system that allows it to send signals that are more focused and directed.
Dr. John Saw, Sprint's chief technology officer, said that the company's 2.5 GHz spectrum excels at moving large data at incredibly very fast speeds. He added that compared to any other U.S. carriers, the company's deep 2.5 GHz holdings allow them to deliver more capacity.
Customers under Sprint's LTE Plus Network can expect to get a number of benefits. These include faster service brought by increased network capacity and speed by up to two times; peak speeds in excess of 100 Mbps, which can be enjoyed on capable devices; stronger and wider cell signal reach at 2.5 GHz; and enhanced reliability of the service brought by using a trio of spectrum bands for faster data speeds (2.5 GHz), better indoor service (800 MHz) and broad coverage (1.9 GHz).
Apart from the expansion, Sprint continues to gain more subscribers by launching an attractive wireless offer for U.S. customers who are willing to switch to its network. By switching, customers will get 50 percent off the price of their current carrier plan and will also get up to $650 as switching fees for every line.
The company also has the best consumer satisfaction guarantee available in the market with its 30-day satisfaction guarantee offer. The satisfaction guarantee allows unsatisfied customers to get a refund on the device cost and service charges within 30 days of using the service.
