NFL players read mean tweets about themselves on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'

The NFL’s 2014 regular season kicked off on Thursday, September 4 with the Seattle Seahawks taking on, and defeating, the Green Bay Packers in Seattle in a 36-16 victory.

But, in what was perhaps a bigger victory, Jimmy Kimmel kicked off the season by inviting a group of former and current NFL players on "Jimmy Kimmel Live." However, the players weren’t there to discuss football. Instead, the group was there to participate in a special NFL edition of the show’s “Mean Tweets” segment, in which individuals read out loud insulting Twitter comments about themselves.

They are all pretty amusing. But one of the better tweets is directed at/read by television host and former New York Giant Michael Strahan. It reads, “Michael Strahan’s teeth are having a middle school dance, where the boys stand on one side of the room and the girls stand on the other.”

Sportscaster Erin Andrews also appears in the segment. Her insulting tweet is a dagger to the soul that reads, “Hopefully a ball to your temple will knock the stupid out of you.”

Other players who make appearances during the “Mean Tweets” segment include Terrell Owens, Clay Matthews, and Malcom Smith, just to name a few.
