Are you a Halo fan and a developer to boot? Fancy laying your grubby hands on some cool Halo goodies?
If you answered yes to both the above questions then you're in luck. Developer 343 Industries is hosting a Halo API Hackathon contest, which as the name suggests leverages the Halo API, and there are some amazing goodies such as the Anubis replica helmet and Needler replica up for grabs!
On April 4, 343 Industries announced the contest that coincides with the rollout of the latest update to the Halo API. The developer has added some raw match endpoints, which will enable developers to gain access to a match's breakdown "like never before."
Some of the data the end point reveals are as follows:
• Gamertags of the players
• Weapon used to kill
• In-game time
• Location on the map in coordinates
The update is currently live for developers to sink their teeth into and begin coding with.
The update apart, the exciting aspect for Halo fans is the Halo API Hackathon contest, which will run from April 4 to May 16, 2016.
"We want to see what you can build with this all-new spectrum of data, and we'll be giving away prizes to the very best sites and apps that take advantage of this new endpoint," says the developer.
The top three winners will be chosen by the judge's panel from 343 Industries. They will determine the winner on the basis of innovation, functionality and polish. Participants are required to submit their entries within the given deadline on the Halo Waypoint forums. The contest ends at 11:59 P.M. PT on May 16.
