In an effort to give gardeners a way to bring their passion indoors, China-based iGrow announced on April 4 that it will be making its hydroponics garden products widely available. The company, which was founded in 2014, has extended its indoor gardening business to more than 20 countries around the world.
iGrow's products are based on Agriculture 4.0, a company-developed concept situated around LED light gardening.
"Agriculture 4.0 represents total subversion and sublimation of traditional agriculture," said Lennon Tsai, founder of iGrow. "In China, iGrow has developed a collection of indoor agricultural products, from the micro indoor planting equipment represented by automatic plant-growing machines and the garden-like office environments created by embedded planting systems, to the air farm built by the smart DFT (Deep Flowing Technique) planting system. iGrow is dedicated to pursuing a truly smart planting system that covers all variety of species of plants."
The iGrow intelligent hydroponics garden system uses semi-aerosol cultivation techniques and LED lighting to promote growth. This gives plants the water, light and air they need to thrive, even in an indoor environment. Flowers, vegetables and fruits can all be grown indoors by gardeners, regardless of skill level. A nutrient solution and water need to be applied to the plants no more than twice per month in order for them to grow.
Those who want to see iGrow in action will be able to do so at the Hardware Tools and Gardening Exhibition in Las Vegas from May 4 through May 6. There, iGrow will have a booth to educate U.S.-based consumers on all of the benefits of hydroponic gardening.
The company completed its first round of funding in November 2015, and iGrow is slated to begin its second round in mid-2016. iGrow currently has a presence in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
"We still have a number of new ideas in the making," Tsai continued. "We already have a great selection of products, so together with our agents, we can create the products consumers prefer. We have already laid out a marketing network throughout the world, with top priority given to the American market this year."
