Is this Iron Fist or Game of Thrones?
Yet again another cast member from the HBO hit TV series will be starring in Iron Fist as Netflix finds the show's female lead in Jessica Henwick. In Game of Thrones, she played Nymeria Sand, the whip-wielding Sand Snake.
In Iron Fist, Henwick will play Colleen Wing. A martial arts expert, Wing runs her own dojo, becoming an invaluable ally to Danny Rand, or Iron Fist, which Finn Jones (Ser Loras Tyrell in Game of Thrones) will be playing.
Henwick also starred in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" as fan-favorite X-Wing fighter pilot Jessika Pava and the UK Series Spirit Warriors, which came out in 2010.
With Wing's character now cast, "The Daughters of the Dragon" is set. The monicker was given to Wing and Misty Knight, which Simone Missick will be playing in Luke Cage.
After Wing and Knight became friends, they opened a private investigation firm known as Knightwing Restorations, Ltd. They were called "The Daughters of the Dragon" because of their abilities in martial arts.
Iron Fist will follow Rand's story as he returns to New York City from K'un L'un. After years of absence, Rand takes on criminal elements corrupting the city with incredible mastery of kung-fu and the ability to summon the power of the Iron Fist.
Often in the comic books, he teamed up with Luke Cage to become "Heroes for Hire" or "Power Man and Iron Fist." This will be evident as well on TV as Iron Fist will be making an appearance in the Luke Cage series before the two join Jessica Jones and Daredevil for the miniseries The Defenders.
There's no word yet on when Iron Fist will be premiering but with Luke Cage set to debut on Sept. 30, it can be assumed that the show will not be around until at least 2017.
Along with Scott Buck (Dexter, Six Feet Under) as showrunner, not many details either have been released about the people involved in Iron Fist. With the lead roles now filled up, however, it's only a matter time before more casting news come.
