If you think this is an April Fools' Day joke, you're wrong. AT&T is really dishing out a 48-inch Samsung Smart TV for free if consumers are going to purchase the Samsung Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge on AT&T Next and they activate a new wireless line or a new DirecTV service.
Note that new AT&T consumers and existing subscribers who wish to purchase DirecTV or U-Verse TV are both qualified for this deal. Customers are eligible for this particular deal if they purchased either of the two smartphones within the promotion time, which is from April 1 through April 30.
"We're making wireless and entertainment better together every day," said the chief marketing officer of AT&T Entertainment Group David Christopher in a press release, via Android Police. "Our customers get the benefit of the Galaxy S7 on our fantastic 4G LTE network, plus this great Samsung smart TV for our award-winning DirecTV."
AT&T says that to get the free TV, eligible customers have to visit SamsungPromotions.com/attTVpromo and sign up within 60 days after buying the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge.
The free Samsung Smart TV AT&T is giving away is an LED J5200 Series Smart TV - 48-inch Class TV.
When registering for the free TV, customers need to have the following details:
• IMEI and Wi-Fi MAC address from the purchased Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge;
• the purchase receipt for the smartphone; and
• the account number of the DirectTV or U-Verse TV.
Upon entering the IMEI and MAC address number of the phone and uploading the purchased receipt, buyers will then have to follow the prompts and complete all the required forms on the promo page.
For every qualified TV service account, consumers are going to receive a limit of one free Samsung Smart TV, regardless of the number of smartphone they have purchased.
The carrier says it will take four to six weeks for customers to receive their free TV after verifying that they have met all eligibility requirements.
The latest promo from AT&T is seen as a way for the carrier to lure new customers into its network, apart from pushing its DirecTV or U-verse TV service.
