Zack Snyder Explains Big Dream Sequence In 'Batman v Superman'

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is breaking box office records despite the mixed reviews it received from fans and critics alike. Now that many people have no doubt seen the DC Superheroes film, the film's highly criticized director, Zack Snyder, justifies Bruce Wayne's dream sequence which, to many, were just confusing or unneeded.

Empire Online invited Snyder and film's producers, Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder for a two-hour spoiler-filled podcast where they shed light about certain details in the film.

We all know that the Blu-Ray version of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is not only getting an "R" rating and that it has about 30 minutes worth of unseen footage, including scenes removed from Bruce's nightmare showing a world ruled by Superman and a special message delivered by The Flash himself.

"I think it's okay to look at the extended dream sequence as an impressionistic view of a possible future right?" Snyder said.

He also mentioned that The Flash's appearance in the dream sequence leaves the discussion on whether the Flash exists within the reality that Batman and Superman are currently in or he came from another reality. After all, even the CBS series Supergirl is already playing with the idea of alternate realities by having a crossover with The Flash in its March 28 episode.

Moreover, Deborah Snyder also discussed that the appearance of The Flash has a deeper meaning than just an introduction of his character for the Justice League films which will begin filming on April 11. It was revealed in an interview that the appearance of The Flash was something the production decided to add because it will pay off in the future- and the "future" will most likely begin on April 11.

"[That's] the fun stuff to try and figure out exactly what Flash is saying to Bruce and what he means [...] we're not making it up," Snyder teases.
