IFA 2014: Elgato to showcase smart bulb Avea, Eve smarthome sensors

At the IFA 2014 in Berlin, Elgato will be featuring new app-powered accessories that will allow users of iPhones and iPads to monitor and control their home, stage perfect lighting ambiance, and ensure the availability of extra power for devices all the time.

The products to be featured by Elgato are named the Eve smarthome system, the Avea smart bulb, and the Smart Power portable power device.

The Elgato Eve smarthome system will be previewed at the IFA 2014. It is an app-powered system that allows users to monitor their home through their iPhone and iPad.

The Eve system will be supported by a complete range of Eve sensors, which are capable of gathering data on the user's home including air pressure, air quality, energy and water consumption, humidity and temperature. The data collected by the sensors is then analyzed and shown in the app for Elgato Eve.

Through the use of the Eve system, users will be able to learn more about their home, which could help users improve certain aspects.

Elgato will be previewing the Bluetooth Smart based Even sensors in IFA 2014.

Elgato will also be previewing the Avea smart bulb, which is an accessory controlled using an iPhone. The Avea Dynamic Mood light also uses the Bluetooth Smart technology just like the other accessories of the Eve line.

Through a single tap in the accompanying app for the Avea, users can access one of the seven lighting atmospheres that are pre-programmed for a working environment, a romantic dinner or a relaxing time. The Avea is also very easy to use, as users simply have to screw in the Avea bulb and download the app to operate it.

The Avea smart bulb also has a Wake-Up Light feature to make sure that users get their desired start for each day.

Lastly, Elgato will also be revealing the Smart Power device, which the company says is the very first portable power device that monitors itself.

Smart Power, which also uses the Bluetooth Smart technology, also utilizes advanced self-monitoring features that allow the device to send a message to the iPhone when its battery needs to recharge. Smart Power will even send a reminder to the user so that the device will not be forgotten.

The Smart Power portable power device has a capacity of 6,000 mAh, allowing it to fully charge an iPhone up to three times before being drained.

Both the Avea smart bulb and the Smart Power device cost $99.95. Prices and availability for the Eve product line, however, has not been released by Elgato.
