Final Fantasy fans will get to learn about the upcoming title in the series on Wednesday, when the Final Fantasy XV Uncovered event takes place in Los Angeles.
Developers tout that at the "behemoth" event, Final Fantasy loyalists will finally find out the release date for the anticipated console game.
Game director Hajime Tabata recently fanned the flames and revealed a few things about the latest installment of the sci-fi role playing game.
For one thing, Tabata pointed out that to finish the main storyline of the game, gamers will need no less than 50 hours of gameplay. Previous statements from the game director hinted at 40 hours of gameplay for the completion of the main narrative, but it is exciting to know that Square Enix crammed a lot more content into the game.
Mind you, 50 hours will go into the main story alone: this means that when you pile up the myriad of side-quests and optional activities a player can do, the number can actually double.
As Final Fantasy XV features a substantially large open-world, fans look forward to exploring the hefty secondary plot lines. It is too early to say, but chances are that the full completion of the game will require more than 100 hours of solid gameplay.
Those familiar with the history of the series know that it has seen better days.
Final Fantasy XII (the PS2 version) was the latest acclaimed title from the franchise. The subsequent Final Fantasy XIII did not do much to impress the fans and the more recent online MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV didn't manage to catch up on enthusiasm.
Based on what we currently know about Final Fantasy XV, the hype is real. Smooth gameplay, extended open-world and stunning visuals should get the gamers going. Final Fantasy fans will be pleased to know that the upcoming title will bring back Airships and the Cactuar, one of the iconic creatures of the series.
Several details regarding FFXV, such as warp points and battle modes, were disclosed by Square Enix back in January 2016.
Both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles will have their own version of the game, but there's no word yet on the game launching on PC. Should we hear about it at the event, we will keep you posted.
In the meantime, check out the video trailer below to learn more details about the Final Fantasy XV Uncovered event.
