Square Enix Promises 'Final Fantasy XV' Release In 2016

Square Enix has confirmed that the action role-playing video game Final Fantasy XV (FFXV) will finally be released in 2016.

The upcoming game is the 15th installment in the Final Fantasy game series and Square Enix is the developer and publisher of the game. The game is expected for a global launch in 2016 and it will be available for Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Microsoft Xbox One.

In a blog post, Hajime Tabata, the game director of FFXV, reaffirms the FFXV release date.

"We will finally release FFXV this year, in 2016! In development, previous phases required wisdom and strength. However, moving forward the final phase will focus on effort and willpower," says Tabata. "We will do everything we can do to finish FFXV to create an experience we are incredibly proud of and one that you will enjoy and treasure."

The development of FFXV has been ongoing for several years and Final Fantasy fans are anxiously waiting for the game. During the PAX Prime event in August 2015, Tabata confirmed that the much-awaited FFXV will be officially launched in a special event in March 2016. However, Tabata did not confirm a release date for the game.

In December 2015, Square Enix confirmed via a tweet that the next Final Fantasy "Active Time Report" broadcast will take place in January 2016. This Final Fantasy Active Time Report will bring latest news and details about the upcoming game.

The Twitter post confirmed that the Active Time Report will introduce new battle footage and a fresh look at the Niflheim Empire.

Square Enix has already released a demo of FFXV and the game developer may introduce another at the Active Time Report. And even though it's free demo, it was not made available to everyone.

"This demo is exclusive to Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. We're never going to release it as a stand-alone piece down the line. Secondly, it's intended to be a special gift for those of you who purchase early - the demo will be limited to the 'Day One' edition of the game, meaning that only the first shipment is going to have the demo in it. So if the demo is something you think you might like, we highly encourage you to pre-order or to be quick about getting to the store on launch day," said by Scott Strichart, the associate product marketing manager of Square Enix.

Square Enix must ensure that it brings new features to the game to attract more gamers. FFXV is expected to be the most polished game in the Final Fantasy series, which will enhance the gaming experience of gamers.
