Everyone’s favorite smuggler, Han Solo, is back in action.
Entertainment Weekly reported on Thursday, August 28, that Harrison Ford, who plays the iconic “Star Wars” character, returned to work and that “Star Wars: Episode VII” resumed filming.
Ford was sidelined on June 12 when a piece of the prop that makes up Solo’s trusty ship (or, a bucket of bolts, according to some), the Millennium Falcon, fell and struck Ford, fracturing the bone in his left leg. Han Solo plays a major role in the film, so his injury also halted shooting. This necessitated the reshuffling of the already tight production schedule.
But all is well again in the Star Wars universe. EW reports that, “the entire cast and crew returned to the U.K. this week and the film is officially going, well … full Force, according to sources close to the project.”
Producers were worried because doctors initially predicted Ford would need as much as six months to recover from the injury. But, fortunately, those doctors grossly underestimated the rough-and-tumble badass that is Harrison Ford.
Speaking of tough, Ford currently stars as a CIA operative in Sylvester Stallone’s macho action film “The Expendables 3.” Ford attended the film’s premiere on August 11 at the TLC Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, California. And, as he walked the red carpet, he was noticeably sans cane, strutting limp-free, like an old smoothie.
