LittleBigPlanet 3 is making its way to a pineapple under the sea.
That's right, kids, Sackboy will travel to Bikini Bottom in new DLC for LittleBigPlanet 3. Sackboy will have to adventure to the bottom of the sea for several new missions to help save SpongeBob SquarePants' stomping grounds from a nefarious plot by Plankton.
Not only will Sackboy travel deep into the ocean, though, he'll also bring with him a variety of new costumes representing characters from the cartoon, including SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy, Squidward, Gary the snail, Mr. Krabs and Plankton.
"Sackboy and friends dive into the depths of the ocean to help SpongeBob SquarePants stop the evil Plankton's nefarious plan to bury Bikini Bottom with his diabolical Krabby Patty knock-offs!" Media Molecule writes on its YouTube page.
Developer Media Molecule's trailer showed off the new DLC, which will feature four new levels based on the popular Nickelodeon cartoon series.
Players can purchase the SpongeBob SquarePants costumes individually or pay for all of them in a pack for $5.99. The level kit itself is $4.99 and also includes 117 new stickers, 54 decorations, 20 materials and eight objects.
"Transform Bunkum into Bikini Bottom with over 200 premium costumes, stickers, decorations and more," Sony writes on the level kit's page.
LittleBigPlanet 3 is the third game in the LittleBigPlanet franchise. The puzzle-platformer video game asks players to use their imaginations — in the voice of narrator Stephen Fry — not just for traversing the game's many inventive levels, but also gives players tools for building their own levels that they can share with the LittleBigPlanet community. The game puts a lot of emphasis on creation (which is part of its storyline). In addition to encouraging players to create their own levels, the title also offers stickers that players can collect and then later use to decorate Sackboy's homebase, his pod.
The third game brought new characters to the LittleBigPlanet world, including OddSock, Swoop and Toggle. Each character has its own specific set of skills which become useful for particular levels of the game.
LittleBigPlanet 3 is available on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. The SpongeBob SquarePants DLC arrived on Thursday and is available for purchase through the PlayStation Store.
