Just because Mad Men ended in May doesn't mean we'll never see Don Draper grace our TV screens again. Case in point: Jon Hamm, who just won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Draper on Mad Men during last Sunday night's ceremony, will soon reprise his iconic role on TV.
However, probably no one predicted that it would be on the Nickelodeon animated series Spongebob Squarepants, of all shows. Hamm will lend his voice to a character named Don Grouper in an episode of Spongebob Squarepants slated to air next year, Variety reports.
Unsurprisingly, the two Dons have more in common than just a similar-sounding name. Grouper is "a charismatic head ad executive" for the agency of Grouper, Goby & Koi with a "sharp mind and devastating charm," according to Nickelodeon, as reported by Variety.
In the upcoming episode, Spongebob and Mr. Krabs will seek some business advice from Grouper on Mr. Krabs' new business venture of a line of frozen Krabby Patties. Also, much like Draper, when Grouper is around, "everyone laps up his words like overpriced organic honey," according to Nickelodeon via Variety.
There's also a pencil sketch of what Grouper will look like over on Variety. Basically, he looks like a fish in a suit with a grin on his face and a furrowed brow. Grouper is also holding a coffee mug in his hand, which is where he differs from Draper, because we all know that Mad Men character would really have a glass filled with whiskey in his hand, no matter what the time of day.
