Daredevil season 2 was just released, and already, the show's Matt Murdock, Charlie Cox, is looking forward to seeing some characters come to life in the series in the future.
There's no word yet on whether Netflix will be renewing Daredevil for a third season, but if that happens, Cox would like to see Bullseye make an appearance and be a part of the story.
"Who would play that part I have no idea but I just think there's such an interesting, rich character there ... When you read the comics it's etched in a Daredevil memory all that stuff," said the actor.
Interestingly, Cox is not alone in thinking that Bullseye would make a great addition to Daredevil. In fact, Bullseye was making a lot of noise as the show was casting season 2, with rumors flying around that Marvel was in talks with Jason Statham as the actor to play the character.
Not that this means that Cox has any problem with the Punisher being chosen instead. Played by Jon Bernthal, the character heats things up in Hell's Kitchen as a new "hero" cleaning up the mess that he claims Daredevil doesn't have what it takes to fix. Having worked with the character and Bernthal, Cox is actually one of the people pushing for the Punisher to get his own show.
"And if he does, I'd love to be in it. I'd love Daredevil to make an appearance," said Cox.
Additionally, he said that, instead of introducing a new character (villain or not) every season, he's more interested in Daredevil exploring more of what Wilson Fisk had in store. Fisk, who turned into the Kingpin as season 1 ended, has been arrested, but that only means he's going to be out of the picture for a while, but not permanently.
Season 2 of Daredevil premiered on Netflix on March 18. Alongside the Punisher, Elektra Natchios was also introduced in the season. The character is played by Élodie Yung.
