Twitch.TV has not only been consistently trying to improve its system to give users a more satisfying experience, it has also been attempting to determine what users would want to see offered in its streaming site. It began with a Bob Ross "The Joy of Painting" marathon in October 2015 and now it wants to give more to its creative community by launching a Food channel on March 16 and have a Julia Child marathon to kick things off.
It will be a non-stop marathon of all 2012 episodes of Julia Child's classic cooking show, "The French Chef," which was shown on PBS, beginning 2 p.m. Pacific time. If that is not enough reason to visit the channel, just think about all the mouth-watering dishes that Julia Child has prepared on her show.
The Twitch.TV/Food channel is dedicated to everything that has to do with food so it only makes sense that Julia Child — the person who practically paved the way for modern cooking shows — was given the honor for the launch of the channel. In addition to that, Twitch is also releasing three new global food related emotes for the Twitch chat: Nomnom, a bitten cookie; ChefFrank, the adorable puppy chef; and StinkyCheese, who needs no introduction.
The three new emotes were created for Twitch by RinTheYordle, who runs an art and game stream on Twitch.
The Amazon owned live streaming site also plans to highlight delectable and fun kitchen creations from its users so it is asking users to provide links and other channels which will host food streams can be found by using the #Food hashtag.
"If you're inspired to try your hand at streaming your own culinary adventures, use #Food in the title of your stream to be included in the directory of food streams on Twitch Creative," it explained.
