Twitch finally arrives on Android TV. Customers can now watch pre-recorded and live games via the Twitch app on their Android TV.
The latest Twitch app for Android TV lets users to log in and search for their favorite broadcasters and games.
"With Twitch for Android, you can watch broadcasts of the games you love and chat with the players you follow. Whether you're into League of Legends, Call of Duty, Minecraft or even Clash of Clans, we've got you covered," reads the app's description in Google Play Store.
Users can also chat with other gamers directly via the app on Android TV. Customers will have the option to view recorded or live videos of gamers and eSports events in high resolution (1080p/60fps). Twitch app users on Android TV can also follow some specific games or channels so that they do not miss any broadcast.
"Android fans get ready, we've got something awesome coming your way. Starting today, you'll be able to enjoy a shiny new version of the Twitch app on the latest Android TV devices," per the official Twitch blog.
Twitch has also updated the Android mobile app that brings Whispers 2.0 functionality - an enhanced chat experience.
The company explains that with Whispers 2.0 mobile update users can simply tap the whispers icon placed at the top right of the screen and view private message at a quick glance.
Android TV is not the only platform where Twitch viewing has been expanded. On Dec. 3, NVIDIA announced that Twitch viewing was also available on SHIELD Android TV.
"Whether you love to watch live gameplay or share your gameplay with friends, SHIELD is designed to give you the ultimate Twitch experience," per an NVIDIA blog.
The new Twitch app is a nice addition to the list of Android TV apps. The user interface of the Twitch app for Android TV is simple and easy to use. Watching recorded or live gameplays on a big screen may attract many customers to download the new app on their Android TV.
