Microsoft is celebrating Pi Day, the third month and 14th day of the year, with an attractive 31.4 percent discount for the Dell XPS 13.
On Pi Day, March 14 (3/14), we celebrate the mathematical constant pi (3.14). Some celebrate it with pie, others take advantage of this occasion to learn more about pi, and others turn it into an occasion for sales and attractive promotions to lure in more customers.
Microsoft is of the latter category, celebrating Pi Day with notable discounts. Today and only today (Monday, March 14), the base version of the Windows 10-powered Dell XPS 13 laptop is available for just $685.31.
Compared to its normal price tag of $999, this is one of the most attractive deals currently on the market. A $313.69 discount is definitely enticing, but it's worth pointing out that higher-end versions of the XPS 13 are not included in this promotion.
The base Dell XPS 13 model that's now on sale comes with a Core i5-6200U processor paired with 8 GB of RAM and a 128 GB SSD. The laptop features a sleek design and a 13.3-inch full HD display, non-touch. The XPS 13 should last for up to 11 hours on a single charge and it's highly portable.
"Premium construction, excellent portability, sixth-generation Intel Core i5 power - the Dell XPS 13 is as powerful and feature-packed as they get," touts the product description at the Microsoft Store. "It also features the world's first InfinityEdge display, a virtually borderless 13-inch screen placed into the body of an 11-inch laptop. Compared to the Apple MacBook Air 13, the XPS 13 is 23% smaller with the same size screen."
Deals like this one don't usually come very often, so interested customers might want to take advantage of this promotion while it's still available. Remember that the deal is only good for 3/14, which means that the Dell XPS 13 will return to its normal $999 price tag come March 15.
Lastly, it's also worth pointing out that this special offer is only available for customers in the United States. Microsoft has not extended the promotion globally and made no mention of any plans to do so.
