'Doom' Multiplayer Closed Beta Runs March 31 To April 3: Here's How To Join

Alongside the release of the new trailer of the hotly-awaited video game Doom, publisher Bethesda has announced that the Doom Multiplayer Closed Beta test is going to kick off from March 31 through April 3.

Specifically, the Closed Beta test will start on March 31 at 10 p.m. ET and will end on April 3 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

How To Join

Bethesda says that, in order to participate in the Closed Beta testing, players need to have the Doom Beta codes, which are included with copies of Wolfenstein: The New Order.

Players should receive an email from Bethesda containing the key code before the Closed Beta commences.

To redeem the Closed Beta key code, gamers have to follow the code activation instructions for their specific platforms:

Xbox One
PS4
Steam

The Closed Beta is going to be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC (via Steam). This is open to all players across the globe and supports these languages: English, Italian, French, German, Polish, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Russian and Brazilian Portuguese.

The beta will feature two maps called "Infernal" and "Heatwave," plus two modes named "Warpath" and "Team Deathmatch."

Those who plan on sharing their gameplay experiences from the Closed Beta can do so through gameplay streams, YouTube, forum posts and more.

Do note, though, that all the servers will be turned off when the Closed Beta ends. As such, gamers will not be able to play the Closed Beta version of the game when the test period ends.

The beta testing is expected to help developers of the game uncover a few bugs before rolling out its final version. Moreover, it also serves as a demonstration to give gamers a taste of what it's like to play the forthcoming title.

Fans of the game should expect the full game to be launched on May 13. This will come packed with the solo and multiplayer modes along with Snap Map, a map-creation tool.
