HBO's current not-so-best-kept secret is that Jon Snow will be back for season six of Game of Thrones. Still, they play the game that fans are still unsure of what will really befall the very dead-looking Lord Commander of the Night's Watch.
Now, we have it straight from actor Kit Harington himself that, yes, we will definitely be seeing new scenes with Jon Snow when the series returns in April, and they won't be in the form of flashbacks from his younger brother Bran, either.
In an interview with Time Out London, Harington fessed up that, even though he adamantly told reporters in the past that his character is dead and not coming back, he did indeed film some new scenes for the upcoming season.
So, the good news is it's official! We will be seeing Jon Snow again. The bad news:
“I filmed some scenes of me being dead – it's some of my best work,” are the exact words he said.
While we're quite happy that Harington is proud of his work on the upcoming season, we were kind of hoping that we'd see more than just corpse Snow.
However, Harington offered another clue in the interview when he said, “I know how long I’m a corpse for, but I can’t tell you that!”
So, there you have it. Jon Snow will return as a corpse, but perhaps this status is only a temporary arrangement. We still have the possibility that Melissandre will ride into Castle Black and resurrect him using the powers bestowed on her by the Red God. Or maybe he will rise up as an undead warrior just like many of the fallen brothers who took the black did. Or maybe, and we hope this isn't the case, his corpse will be burned and turned to ash before he rises up in any form. That's when we'll really have to say bye bye to the bastard Stark.
Suffice to say, even with this new confirmation from Harington, we still know nothing.
