Chris Pratt visited a children's hospital as Star-Lord, and it was great

After going on a major publicity tour to roll out "Guardians of the Galaxy," you would think Chris Pratt would take it easy now that his first major starring film role went off without a hitch and will return for a sequel. Not so. As true heroes know, you just can't sit back and watch while there are good deeds to be done.

Pratt visited Children's Hospital Los Angeles on Wednesday to make some kids very, very happy. A celebrity taking some time out of whatever celebrities do would have been a nice gesture in and of itself, but it gets better. Pratt dressed as his "Guardians of the Galaxy" character Peter Quill, a.k.a. Star-Lord, and brightened the patients' day with some out-of-this-world fun.

The actor snuck out during a special screening of his Marvel action/sci-fi romp at the hospital, organized with the help of Marvel and Children's Miracle Network, to magically transform into Star-Lord. Pratt took photos with fans, handed out "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "The Lego Movie" merch and even let the kids try on his Star-Lord costume, which, as you can see in the below tweet, was just plain adorable.

As Cinema Blend points out, Pratt said in an interview with Panzer TV that he stole his Star-Lord jacket and some of his wardrobe from the "Guardians of the Galaxy" set. He also said he would totally dress up as Star-Lord and visit children in a hospital. "That would give me real meaning for this movie," Pratt said in the interview.

Pratt also spent some one-on-one time at the hospital with Dylan Prunty, who caught the attention of the media for his Make-A-Wish Foundation request for a Lego replica of Children's Hospital Los Angeles. As you probably remember, Pratt voiced the lead in last spring's "The Lego Movie." The two reportedly recited lines from the movie for about 10 minutes, and Pratt signed Prunty's Lego swag.

With a 2-year-old son at home with wife Anna Faris and all that experience performing at children's parties as Andy Dwyer on the NBC sitcom "Parks and Recreation," Pratt has had some previous practice in brightening a kid's day. Although, whose face wouldn't light up if Star-Lord — or Pratt — walked into the room?
