24K Gold, 18K Rose Gold, And Platinum Samsung Galaxy S7 And S7 Edge Now Available For Preorder With High Prices

Although Samsung is offering the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge in a gold variant, there are some who prefer the real deal. A UK retailer is taking preorders for both smartphones in choice of 24K Gold, 18K Rose Gold, and Platinum plated frames and the price starts at £1,700 (about $2,350).

After months of speculation and leaks, Samsung officially launched its 2016 flagship smartphones at Mobile World Congress. In November, we reported that the company was planning to bring back a major feature that was removed from last year's Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, a microSD expansion slot. In addition to the microSD expansion slot, Samsung also included an updated version of the Galaxy S5's waterproof and dust-resistant case in the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are currently available for preorder in the U.S. in different color options, including gold and platinum tones, and will be released worldwide on March 11. If you're the type of person who prefers those colors in their real and expensive state, a UK retailer is taking preorders for both devices in choice of 24K Gold, 18K Rose Gold, or Platinum plating.

GSM Arena is reporting that UK retailer Truly Exquisite has opened up preorders for the 24K Gold, 18K Rose Gold or Platinum plated Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge and pricing starts at £1,700 (about $2,350). The smartphones will ship with a "Luxury Wooden Box", Gear VR headset, and a Samsung Wireless Charging Pad.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge's main difference is the S7 uses a 5.1-inch Quad HD display, while the S7 Edge features a larger 5.5-inch dual-curved edge Quad HD display, both packing resolution of 2,560 x 1,440. The handsets are powered by Samsung's latest Exynos 8890 processor, 4 GB of RAM, include 32 GB of internal storage, and a microSD expansion slot that supports up to 200 GB microSD cards.

In terms of camera capabilities, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge boast a 12-megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus, OIS (optical image stabilization), and 5-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat and selfies. Both devices include large non-removable batteries; the S7 packs in a 3,000 mAh, while the S7 Edge uses a 3,600 mAh battery. The devices are also IP68 certified waterproof and dust resistant.

If you're interested in scoring a gold or platinum plated Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge, head over to Truly Exquisite where you can preregister and be the first to receive the ultra-premium-metal clad smartphones.
