For the last several weeks, the Wyatt Family has been picking on Brock Lesnar like vultures.
The way the Beast went about destroying the Wyatts in last month's Royal Rumble, only to be eliminated by the pesky bunch later in the match, seemed to fuel rumored reports of a Lesnar vs. Bray Wyatt bout at WrestleMania 32, live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on April 3.
Well, those plans have reportedly changed. According to WrestleZone.com, Sunday night's edition of Wrestling Oberver Live claimed that Lesnar won't be facing Bray Wyatt after all, and instead, he'll be up against a different kind of crazy — in the form of the "Lunatic Fringe" Dean Ambrose.
That's fresh off Brock already competing against Ambrose and Roman Reigns in a triple threat match during Sunday night's Fastlane pay-per-view.
According to Wrestling Observer Live, Bray was supposed to cost Lesnar the match Sunday night, further igniting their feud and setting up their official bout at WrestleMania 32. However, the triple threat main event came and went without Wyatt ever making his presence felt in the match.
That's reportedly because WWE had a change of heart, discarding its original plan to set up a Lesnar vs. Ambrose match at WrestleMania 32.
From the pure standpoint of the WWE Universe being thrown for a loop and the company going against the grain of even its own plan, this should be welcomed news.
Then, add in the fact that Ambrose and Lesnar already provided a glimpse of the electricity to expect during their triple threat match with Reigns, and it's more than enough reason for fans to be excited of what's to come April 3.
On paper, this match between the Beast and the Lunatic Fringe could deliver a lot more fireworks than that of the Triple H vs. Reigns main event for the WWE World Heavyweight title. By the nickname alone, Ambrose doesn't know — or care to understand — any limits, and should push Brock to the breaking point and beyond.
Now, it's up to WWE to set up the match properly, using Monday Night Raw to further douse the feud with the fuel needed to make it generate the kind of the interest the company and fans are looking for over the road to WrestleMania and on the "Grandest Stage of Them All."
