'Daredevil' Season 2: New Photos Of Jon Bernthal As The Punisher Released

It seems that season two of Daredevil is as much about The Punisher as it is about the red-suited Daredevil. As Netflix releases new trailers and images from the show's second season, Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock often shares the spotlight with Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle.

Now, Empire Magazine has several new images of Frank, aka The Punisher, showing him fairly beat up, with his usual guns in hand.

As we've already seen from previous images and videos, Daredevil and The Punisher are at odds during season 2 of Netflix's hit Marvel series. Many of these scenes also seem pulled directly from Marvel Comics.

Empire also released a description of a scene that Daredevil fans can expect to see when the show returns, as reported by ComicBookMovie.com:

"The actor playing Man Justifiably Terrified By The Punisher wrenches open the door and limps through the cabin into his chambers. After a beat, Bernthal - assault rifle in the ready position - follows. Gunfire is exchanged, and the scene ends with The Punisher standing over the man as he begs for his life. Bernthal takes out a handgun and puts it in the man's mouth."

Empire reports that Bernthal calls the man a curse word, followed by Charlie Cox busting into the room as Daredevil.

"'GET OUTTA HERE RED!' yells Bernthal, a line which tells us that, though their methods are different, The Punisher and Daredevil have formed an alliance of sorts," continues Empire. "What happens next - Castle leaping up and pushing Daredevil out of the room - tells us that alliance is fairly brittle."

Daredevil showrunner Marco Ramirez recently confirmed that the production team internally refers to this season as Daredevil vs. Punisher, so it's likely that this scene is just one of many confrontations the two men will have throughout the course of the season.

But is The Punisher the big bad guy replacing Kingpin in season two? And how does Elektra - a character also confirmed for season two of Daredevil - fit in?

Fans won't know the answer until season two of Daredevil premieres on Netflix on March 18.
