LG Outs LG G5 And Friends At MWC 2016: Cam Plus, Hi-Fi Plus, 360 Cam, Rolling Bot

LG has launched the highly awaited LG G5 smartphone on Sunday and the device does not come alone. LG has added a number of companion devices for its flagship (LG G5 and Friends), which will make the entire user experience more fun.

Here are devices, including LG's newest flagship smartphone, that the company launched on Sunday at the 2016 Mobile World Congress.

LG G5

The LG G5 is packed with top-end features. The mobile phone has a 5.3-inch Quad HD IPS Quantum display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 4 GB of RAM powers the G5.

The phone has 16-megapixel primary and 8-megapixel selfie cameras. The LG offering has 32 GB of internal storage and with the microSD card customers can expand the memory to up to 2 TB.

The device includes a 2,800 mAh removable battery and comes running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

LG Cam Plus

The LG Cam Plus is a camera module that users can attach via the phone's removable battery slot for delivering convenient control and comfortable grip of a standalone camera.

The accessory has physical buttons for LED indicator, power, zoom, record and shutter. It also provides exposure lock and intuitive auto focus – some features that are found mainly in standalone digital cameras.

It brings additional 1,200 mAh battery that allows longer usage time.

LG Hi-Fi Plus With B&O Play

The LG Hi-Fi Plus with B&O Play is an innovative audio player, which LG has made in partnership with B&O. The accessory offers top-end music listening experience, which is offered mainly by high-end audio devices.

The LG Hi-Fi Plus can be used as a module for the LG G5 as well as a separate Hi-Fi DAC by connecting to any smartphone or PC.

LG 360 VR

It certainly appears that LG is also joining the virtual reality bandwagon with the LG 360 VR, a virtual reality headset that can be coupled with the LG G5. The headset weighs 118 grams or about 4.16 ounces, which is lighter than many other VR headmounts available in the market. It does not hold the LG smartphone so all users have to do is connect their LG G5 to the LG 360 VR via a dedicated cable.

The VR headset stimulates a 130-inch TV viewed from 2 meters away.

LG 360 Cam

The LG 360 Cam is capable of taking photos and videos in a 360-degree angle. The camera is equipped with two 13-megapixel cameras, and each can shoot in a 200-degree wide angle view.

The compact camera can be connected to LG's latest smartphone for the creation of 360-degree content. The LG 360 Cam has 4 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded with a microSD card. It is powered by a 1,200 mAh battery.

LG has partnered with Google so that users will be able to share the content of their LG 360 Cam on YouTube 360 and Google Street View.

LG Rolling Bot

The bot is a spherical device that can roll like a ball. It has an 8-megapixel camera that captures videos and images even while rolling.

The device can be used at homes as a monitoring system.

"With an IP camera connectable via Wi-Fi, users can remotely monitor the interior of their homes with the LG G5 via live streaming," says LG.

LG Tone Platinum

The LG Tone Platinum is a Bluetooth headset that offers superior sound quality to users. The headset is meant for audiophiles who want to experience sound with minimum distortion.

LG has not yet confirmed release dates or prices for its new smartphone or its companion devices. The Korean company says these will be available B&H, U.S. Cellular, Best Buy, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint soon, as the four major U.S. carriers have also confirmed they will offer the LG G5 to their customers.
