Verizon exclusive all-metal HTC One M8 for Windows Phone 8.1 also coming to AT&T

Verizon may have gotten the exclusive on the HTC One M8 for Windows, but AT&T wants to get the word out that it will also offer the all-metal unibody Windows Phone 8.1 soon.

HTC has a hit on its hands with its current Android flagship smartphone, the HTC One M8. The handset has scored high in reviews because of its superior hardware and design. Consumers have been purchasing it enough to give HTC a profit, something the company hasn't seen for some time. Its spin-off 4.5-inch HTC One Mini 2 is currently being offered as the HTC One Remix on Verizon. HTC and the carrier just announced the HTC One M8 for Windows as an exclusive smartphone for the carrier.

On Aug.19, HTC officially announced the HTC One M8 for Windows. The smartphone features the same all-metal unibody design of its Android-sibling, including its high-end and powerful specs. The handset One M8 for Windows offers Windows Phone fans an alternative flagship smartphone that isn't made by Nokia. HTC announced that it was launching the HTC One M8 for Windows as a Verizon exclusive in the U.S.

Verizon announced that it would begin selling the HTC One M8 for Windows on Aug. 20 and has priced the smartphone at $99.99 when signing a new 2-year contract. Verizon's exclusivity was short lived when the carrier's biggest rival, AT&T issued its own press release a few hours later, announcing that it would also carry the HTC One M8 for Windows. The carrier said it would provide further details on pricing and availability at a later date.

That date could be getting close, as AT&T has posted an online signup page for the HTC One M8 for Windows. The carrier is not providing any details on when it will begin selling the smartphone or at what price. It's allowing customers to sign up to be notified when the HTC One M8 for Windows is available and in turn signaling the end of Verizon's exclusivity.
