It doesn't get much realer than this.
MLB the Show 16 has outdone itself when it comes to personalization, equipping itself with player-specific home run celebrations and authentic Major League Baseball uniforms for the highly-anticipated title, slated to hit stores on March 29.
Even the casual baseball fan knows that players have different ways of celebrating home runs as they circle the bases, and MLB the Show 16 makes sure to capture that fun element in its new title, adding to the authenticity of the diamond.
One of the leaked home run celebrations is that of Toronto Blue Jays slugger Edwin Encarnacion. With his teammate and 2015 American League MVP Josh Donaldson being the cover athlete for the game, Encarnacion should be happy over the way his home run celebration is captured so vividly in this game.
The first baseman, who has bashed 151 homers over the past four seasons, is known for his "Walk the Parrot" home run celebration, in which he holds his forearm up straight, as if a bird is perched onto his arm, while he rounds the bases.
Well, the celebration is perfectly captured in MLB the Show 16. Not to go Blue Jays-crazy, but will the game also include the iconic bat flip from their slugger Jose Bautista? That would just take the homer celebrations to another level.
The other element introduced to add authenticity to the game are new uniforms, as evidenced by leaked gameplay screen shots showing off the Arizona Diamondbacks' look.
The announcement of the personalized home run celebrations and new uniforms comes the same week as the game revealing all the updates made with its Diamond Dynasty expansion.
Part of that expansion has the game teaming up with the baseball analytics firm Inside Edge to provide gamers with a Daily Player Rating for each day of the 2016 Major League Baseball season. So, if Encarnacion has a favorable matchup against New York Yankees pitching entering a Blue Jays vs. Yankees game, it will be represented via a five-star rating. If he struggles against a certain Baltimore Orioles pitcher, it will be represented with a lower rating.
The expansion also adds "hundreds" of star players via "Flashbacks" to their rookie seasons and prime seasons, when they performed at their best.
