Videocon Smartphones Will Come Pre-Loaded With Gameloft Games

Indian smartphone manufacturer Videocon has teamed up with video game publisher Gameloft to have titles pre-installed into Videocon's devices.

Gameloft, known for popular franchises such as Modern Combat, Nova and Asphalt, will be embedding popular games in Videocon smartphones to allow customers to play the titles for free.

Among the titles that will be included in Videocon smartphones are Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour, Nova 3: Freedom Edition, Asphalt Nitro and Bubble Bash.

However, not all the games Gameloft will be including in Videocon devices are full versions. Some of the titles will be trial versions that will allow users to play the title for free up to five times, lasting 180 seconds each playthrough. Users who would want to keep playing the game would have to purchase the game through carrier billing.

"At Gameloft, we see an exponential growth in smart device sales and gameplay usage pattern in emerging markets like India," said Ashish Gupta, Gameloft's country head for India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Gupta added that the pubisher's high-quality titles will be made accessible to more users through partnerships with companies such as Videocon, leading to a better overall video gaming experience.

Videocon CEO Jerold Pereira, meanwhile, reiterated the growth of smartphones, which have gone beyond simply being communication devices to add other functions such as mobile gaming.

"Gameloft is one of the biggest players in mobile gaming industry and this association will surely boost the gaming experience of Videocon smartphone users," Pereira said.

Gameloft has established such partnerships with other major smartphone manufacturers worldwide, with Videocon as the latest company to forge a deal with the video game publisher to widen the reach of Gameloft's titles and push gaming on Videocon devices.

Gameloft has continuously launched popular titles in the mobile gaming space, as the publisher recently released the spring update for Modern Combat 5: Blackout. The title has become a free-to-play one as Gameloft looks to increase the size of the game's community, which would lead to an increased lifetime, more updates and additional content.
