The wait for walkers to finally arrive is almost over. And as if the Feb. 14 midseason return of The Walking Dead isn't enough to get us excited, video game developer and publisher Telltale Games just announced that its three-episode miniseries staring the character Michonne is set to premiere on Feb. 23.
The first episode of The Walking Dead: Michonne - A Telltale Miniseries titled "In Too Deep" will first be available for PS3 and PS4 via the PlayStation Network, for Xbox One and Xbox 360 via the Xbox Games Store, as well as for PC and Mac from the Telltale Online Store and Steam on Tuesday, Feb 23. The episode will then be released for iOS and Android via the App Store, Google Play and Amazon App Store starting on Feb. 25.
The Walking Dead: Michonne follows the story of the popular character from Robert Kirkman's comic books and AMC's TV adaption, who is known for her fierce attitude and beliefs that not everyone deserves saving. Played by Orange is the New Black actress Samira Wiley in the game, Michonne must face her past losses to gain her strength in order to survive.
Over the course of the miniseries, viewers will find out what took her away from Rick and the gang as well as what brought her back as the storyline explains the character's absence between comic book issues #126 and #139.
The official description for episode 1, "In Too Deep," is as follows:
Michonne joins Pete and his crew on the sailing ship The Companion as they cruise the coast for survivors and supplies. When a desperate signal for help draws them to a scene of horrific massacre, Michonne and the crew are lead further to the floating survivors' colony of Monroe, which may just be harboring the person responsible for the carnage.
Walking Dead fans will be able to watch the first five minutes of the premiere episode in a preview at 8:30 p.m. EST on Sunday, Feb. 14, on Youtube.com/TelltaleGames — just before tuning into the season 7 return of our favorite zombie show that evening at 9 p.m. EST on AMC.
Following the premiere episode of the miniseries, Telltale Games will release the next two episodes, "Give No Shelter" in March, and the conclusion "What We Deserve" in April. All three episodes of The Walking Dead: Michonne - A Telltale Miniseries will be available for $14.99.
