Even if you believe in fate, spending most of your free time on your PS4 or Xbox limits the chances that you will finally meet the person you were destined to spend the the rest of your life with. Thankfully, there are lots of dating apps to help us make connections — although once you do go out for some drinks, you might find you have less in common with the person than you thought.
What you really want in a partner is someone who loves to game as much as you, and we aren't just talking about someone who casually picks up a controller to play the Sims or Need for Speed.
And while some may be planning their Valentine's Day date nights, Destiny players are probably looking for someone to play the game's latest update with.
As part of the Crimson Days February update, gamers are able to grab a partner to play Crimson Doubles, the new 2v2 PvP mode where players must win five rounds against the opposing team. If a teammate is defeated, their partner is "infused with the power of a Broken Heart," and the opponent will be able to draw their weapons faster and have max recovery.
A few days ago, a user on the Destiny Reddit page suggested that someone should develop a Tinder app for Crimson Doubles, so that players can be matched with someone to participate in the event with them.
And so that Destiny players aren't heartbroken in real life that they have no one to play with, two Reddit users took the suggestion and created a Tinder-like clone that does just that.
Created by Reddit users sjmorrow and sicemsam in just three days, Crimson Singles is a web-based app where guardians are matched with others.
Crimson Singles is is still in its "alpha prerelease," meaning you might run into some bugs. However, it's really easy to use. Destiny gamers start by registering for an account by entering either their Gamertag or PSN ID and creating a guardian. Users will then be able to "activate" their guardian for matchmaking.
The interface is similar to Tinder where a card stack will be shown of all the other users who are also looking for a match. Skip right to like, left to hide, just like on the popular dating app.
Once the guardian expires, the Destiny gamer will need to activate another one to find a match.
While Crimson Singles is not a mobile app, it seems like a great way to find some gaming love in Destiny. Who knows, it might even lead to a match in real life.
