"Back to the Future" may have had a little more faith in science with its vision of how technologically advanced the world will be by 2015, but "Ghostbusters II" took the darker route when it predicted that the world will end on Feb. 14, 2016.
The prediction was revealed during the talk show of Bill Murray's character, Dr. Peter Venkman, titled "World of the Psychic." In the show, one of his guests, Elaine, was allegedly approached by an alien at the Holiday Inn and revealed when the end of the world will occur. This is in contrast to the prediction by the other guest, Milton Angland, an author and psychic, who predicted that the world will end on New Year's Eve - which was stopped by the Ghostbusters when they defeated Vigo.

It would really be a bummer, as Venkman said, because the "Ghostbusters" reboot won't be released until July 2016 so the all-female team of Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Kristen Wiig would not be able to prove the naysayers wrong if Elaine's alien source was correct.
Then again, until July arrives and the proton packs are handed over to the ladies, the all-male Ghostbusters team can take care of whatever supernatural abomination would threaten the world's existence, if only to prove that they are still very much in the game. After all, the original cast members are very supportive of the "Ghostbusters" reboot and are even praising the new team, from what they've seen during their respective cameos.
"They have such a jolly group, and they are going to have great success with this project," Murray said in an interview about the new "Ghostbusters" crew.
So when Valentine's Day arrives this year and you notice something strange in your neighborhood or there's an invisible man in your bed, there should only be one answer to the question "Who you gonna call?"
Paul Feig's "Ghostbusters" reboot will hit theaters on July 15, 2016.
