Much like Archer's tribute to the Steve McQueen thriller Bullit in 2015, the FX cult classic TV series came back on the radar at full throttle with a mustachioed tribute of a trailer to Magnum, P.I. on Feb. 1, reminding us all how much we've missed our favorite animated super spy from a little organization that once upon a time used to be known as ISIS.
In a bout of perfect timing, a second trailer has been released for the seventh season, which will now air on FXX - one chock-full of Predator references and the rare set of funny, smart jokes about male genitalia, and has revealed the setting of our hero's latest mission. As a show considered one of the best animated series of all time, Archer has yet again proved how pitch-perfect it truly is. In short: Sterling Archer is back in business.
Like the Magnum-themed teaser suggested, we may or may not be in store for a P.I.-themed spell on executive producer and creator Adam Reed's brainchild, akin to Archer's former Miami Vice experiment. (Another big clue about what's in store for fans? It looks like Archer and the game are Tinseltown-bound - and set on being "Hollywood's biggest [private] dick.") If it's anything like Archer's Miami-set, pastel-hued fifth season, then let the fondue parties commence.
The seventh season of FXX's Archer premieres on March 31; the show will also be available to stream on FX Now.
