Bungie is sending you and your friends to Mars.
The latest trailer for the developer's upcoming online shooter roleplaying game Destiny shows us the majestic sand dunes of Mars, the alien structures to explore and the armored enemies that you will battle against.
The science fiction game has players controlling a guardian, battling the forces of darkness. It has players exploring ruined cities on Earth, bases on the moon and, as the new trailer shows, locales on the planet Mars. Besides these three destinations, the game will also feature gameplay on the planet Venus.
As per Bungie's past with the Halo franchise, Destiny is a sci-fi shooter, but the game features a heavy emphasis on RPG elements, including choosing a class with unique powers, finding equipment and other loot, leveling up from killing enemies and improving from the progression.
During an online Beta of the game back in July, more than 4.6 million gamers played the game, engaging in either single player adventuring, co-op with friends or strangers, or attacking one another in the multiplayer versus arena.
Activision announced a few days ago that Destiny was the most-pre-ordered new IP according to huge gaming retailer GameSpot.
Destiny will be published by Activision on September 9, for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, including several special editions with added merchandise, or as part of a white PlayStation 4 bundle.
