Do you think white is the new black? Then upcoming console bundles will make your day.
It has been confirmed that the rumored white Xbox One is coming out in October, bundled with Xbox-exclusive game Sunset Overdrive. Due to the stark contrast compared to the default color, a white Xbox One is desired by collectors. With Sunset Overdrive being released on October 28, a similar timeframe is expected for the bundle.
And Sony will be trying to appeal to the collector market too, with a white PlayStation 4 as part of a Destiny bundle coming on September 9 for $449. Sony confirmed that later in the year a standalone white PlayStation 4 will be released in the U.S. and Europe.
These will not be the only console bundles this year. Microsoft will have a Madden NFL 15 bundle that will include the standard console and a download code for the latest Madden football game for $399, essentially getting the player the game for free.
In Canada, Sony just released a PlayStation 4 bundle that included The Last of Us Remastered for $449 Canadian, basically giving the game away for free since the console is more expensive in Canada than the U.S.
At the Xbox One launch, Microsoft gave company employees a limited edition white Xbox One that wasn't available at retail. It had the words "I Made This" printed on the console and the controller.
Sunset Overdrive is a colorful and cartoon action game from Insomniac, the developers behind Resistance and Ratchet & Clank.
Destiny is the multiplayer shooting RPG from Bungie, the company that created the Halo franchise for Microsoft.
Madden NFL 15 is the latest annual football title from Electronic Arts, in a bestselling series that launched in 1988.
