‘Dying Light’ The Following DLC Brings Updates To Be The Zombie Mode: Here’s Everything You Need To Know

Dying Light is about to get a DLC called The Following in just a few days, and it's coming with new story content, a new map and an update to the Be the Zombie multiplayer mode.

The DLC

The Following is a major standalone DLC, and it'll replace the original title on digital stores and eventually take the spots of the ones on the shelves of physical retailers. Just to be clear, owners of the first game will be able to buy the DLC and upgrade their installed copies of Dying Light.

Be The Zombie Mode

The most notable change is probably the update to the Be the Zombie mode. For those who don't know, this is a PVP multiplayer mode, where four players will go toe to toe with another player playing a Night Hunter zombie. The DLC introduces weaponized buggies for more mayhem, a new map to clash in and tweaks across the board for the night-walking character.

New Story And Map

As mentioned earlier, The Following comes with a new story and map. The story involves a cult that worships some sun God, which gained a prominent standing in the wake of the zombie apocalypse. Meanwhile, the new map is called Countryside, and it's considerably larger than the game's first map.

Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition

Aside from the mentioned add-ons, The Following - Enhanced Edition is going to bring a lot more to the table, including a new bounty system, difficulty setting and 250 unlockable Legend Levels. What's more, it'll also feature all the previous DLC content, community-made maps and various gameplay improvements.

The upcoming bounty system can be categorized into three: Basic Bounties, Daily Bounties and Community Bounties.

The first one is simple enough. It just involves easy-to-do tasks, and it refreshes each time the game is booted. The second one is quite straightforward, and it usually requires players to scale up the tallest buildings and then jump off safely.

The third one is pretty big. It lasts for a couple of days, where players will have to cooperate and kill a certain number of zombies. In the end, each participating player will get a reward when the task is successfully completed.

As for the new Nightmare difficulty, it's more than just improving the AI's killing capabilities. When this setting is used, players won't be able to make use of Easter egg weapons, and when they die, they lose precious experience points.

Availability

Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition and the normal version are going to go live on Feb. 9.
