A retailer has posted the specs of Samsung's unannounced Galaxy Note 4. Some of its notable features are a 5.7-inch 2560 x 1440 display, 4 GB of RAM, and Snapdragon 805 processor.
As we get closer to Samsung's Unpacked event scheduled for Sept. 3, it's pretty safe to assume that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is going to dominate headlines. We've already seen leaked images of the Galaxy Note 4 and just like the Galaxy Alpha, Samsung took much of its design inspiration from Apple's iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s, right down to its chamfered edges. Unlike Apple, who introduced this design two years ago and constructed the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s' case completely using aluminum, Samsung has retained its love of plastic for the smartphone's front and rear and hasn't totally copied Apple's design.
An Indonesian retailer jumped the gun before Samsung's official Sept. 3 unveiling and posted a dedicated product page for the next-generation Samsung Galaxy Note 4, which includes complete specs of the phablet and its price.
Erafone has since taken the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 page down, likely after being contacted by Samsung. Luckily, Droid Life took a screenshot, which includes an image of the Galaxy Note 4 and a list of detailed specs, and if true, the Galaxy Note 4 is going to be an impressive and powerful device.
According to the listing, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will feature an extremely sharp 5.7-inch 2560 x 1440 Super AMOLED display with a high pixel density of 515 pixels per inch (ppi) and will ship with Android 4.4.3 KitKat out of the box. There will be two variants of the phablet depending on region, both with 4 GB of RAM; one will be powered by a 2.5-GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor (U.S models) and the other will use a Samsung Exynos octa-core processor with four 1.3-GHz Cortex-A53 and four Cortex-A57 cores.
The Galaxy Note 4 will pack in a 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization, autofocus, dual-LED flash, and the ability to record 4K video. In terms of wireless connectivity, the phablet will have a 4G LTE radio, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, EDR, and LE.
Samsung will reportedly offer the Galaxy Note with 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB of internal storage in addition to a microSD expansion slot that will support up to 128-GB microSD cards. There was no mention of what size battery the Galaxy Note 4 will use. The price of the Galaxy Note 4 was listed at $813, but will be cheaper when purchased with a new 2-year contract.
As always, take these reports with a grain of salt, and expect to be inundated with new details on what Samsung has up its sleeve for the Galaxy Note 4. We'll be covering the Samsung Unpacked event and will provide complete coverage.
