Back in August, weeks before the 2015 NFL season even began, EA Sports released a cinematic Madden NFL 16 gameplay trailer, predicting the Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals as the teams in Super Bowl 50.
While the video-game developer went 0-2 with that prediction, EA can redeem itself by picking the winner to Sunday's big game between Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.
On Monday, EA released its Madden NFL 16 Super Bowl 50 prediction gameplay video, which has the Panthers rallying to an electric 24-20 victory at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
The way EA sees Super Bowl 50 playing out is Newton helping to lead the Panthers to a commanding 17-0 halftime lead, only for Manning to ferociously rally the Broncos via a second-half comeback to give Denver a 20-17 edge.
Not to be outdone, Newton marches the Panthers down the field, finding receivers for big gains on back-to-back plays late in the fourth quarter. With under 40 seconds remaining and just outside the 10-yard line with the fate of Super Bowl 50 in his hands, Newton play-actions and rolls out the pocket to the right, before being clipped by Broncos strong safety T.J. Ward and diving into the end zone for the dramatic game-winning TD.
Newton wound up with 216 yards and a touchdown to win the game and be named Super Bowl 50 MVP.
EA thinks it's Cam's time. Do you agree?
