PlayStation Plus members get free games every month as part of their subscription, but it's not often they get to pick the games they want. In fact, it's only happened once before, but that's about to change.
Sony has announced that "Vote to Play" is returning, and it will let PS Plus users vote for what free game they want to play come March. Gamers have three games to choose from: Action Henk!, Assault Android Cactus and Broforce, three titles with a focus on multiplayer and co-op. Action Henk! is a racing game, while Assault Android Cactus is a shooter of the twin-stick variety and Broforce is a side-scrolling shooter in the same vein of old-school Contra.
"The thread that brings these three games together: fun titles that can connect the Plus community to play together with friends," Greg Lewickyj writes on the official PlayStation blog. "For me, personally, one of the sweet spots in game design is a title that provides casual fun for almost anyone who picks up the controller, while providing a depth of mastery for those who want to push the game's mechanics to their limits. We hope that you'll enjoy learning about each game and the developers behind them before casting your vote."
Voting will go live on Feb. 9 and run until Feb. 22. Users can cast their vote by logging in to their PlayStation 4 with their PS Plus account and going to the dedicated PS Plus section of the home screen. Last time Sony put their free games up for voting, gamers chose Grow Home as the free title. If this latest promotion follows in the first one's footsteps, expect whatever games aren't selected to go free to be discounted on the PlayStation Store as a consolation prize.
