Sega Releases 3-Hour Recording Of Terrible 'Sonic Adventure' Fishing Song For Some Reason

Sega’s seemingly put out a three-hour “mixtape” that's just the background music from a Sonic Adventure area where the player fishes as Big the Cat. The full title of this mixtape? “Fishing In Paradise 3 Hours of Relaxing Fishing Music Volume One.”

This maybe needs a little prefacing. See, Sega’s mascot, Sonic the Hedgehog, has gotten slightly weirder with age. Specifically, the folks that run Sonic’s social media presence - and even more specifically, the blue, anthropomorphized hedgehog’s Twitter account - have embraced the cultural weirdness that comes naturally to the Internet.

The Sonic the Hedgehog's Twitter account is down to clown when it comes to memes, terrible art and generally everything Sanic. Yes, Sanic. So it’s not exactly shocking that they’ve come out with a “mixtape” entirely dedicated to a snippet of music that’s been unflatteringly compared with a detuned slide guitar being wailed on for seemingly no reason.

Then again, maybe Sonic’s got the right idea. Why ask questions when you can just let the chill tunes take you away to some tropical paradise where someone’s banging a detuned slide guitar about randomly? Life sure would be simpler that way.
