Microsoft has announced an update for Office for iOS, allowing users to take advantage of 3D Touch within the apps, as well as to use the Apple Pencil stylus.
Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus were all given 3D Touch shortcuts, with users simply having to hold down on the app icons on the home screen to see a quick access menu. From these menus, users can quickly create new documents, as well as access recently opened files.
Users are also now able to use the iOS 9 Spotlight feature to search for recent documents, meaning that users won't first have to open either Word, PowerPoint or Excel to find these documents.
The Office apps on the iPad Pro also now have Apple Pencil support, and the apps even have a new feature called "annotate with ink," which basically allows users to write, draw, or highlight text.
Last but not least is a new Morph feature for PowerPoint, which enables users to move a number of different objects at once, something that should make it easier to edit and rearrange content on PowerPoint slides.
If you want to take advantage of the Office updates, you can download the new Word, PowerPoint, and Excel straight from the App Store. While the apps themselves are free, in order to user all the features users will need an Office 365 subscription, which costs $70 a year.
