Apple has pushed out updates for its music-themed apps, which include Logic Remote, Logic Pro X and MainStage 3.
Logic Remote
Logic Remote is a companion app for Logic Pro X on the Mac. The app offers an innovative way for extending the creative power of Logic by using an iPad or an iPhone. The app is designed to offer new ways of recording, mixing and even performing instruments in Logic Pro X from anywhere in the room.
The latest version of the app (v1.3) brings iPhone and iPad Pro support and allows the usage of multiple iOS devices simultaneously.
"iPad Pro extends the usable range of mixer faders, the keyboard and other Touch Instruments," says Apple. "iPad Pro allows you to access key commands alongside Smart Controls and Touch Instruments."
The update also brings some fixes and enhancements that improve connectivity.
Logic Remote is available as a free download from the App Store. The app requires iOS 9.1 or above and is compatible with the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
Logic Pro X
Logic Pro X is Apple's advance digital audio workstation software for Mac. On Wednesday, Apple updated the software to version 10.2.1, which brings several bug fixes and enhancements.
The Logic Pro X software update brings a multi-threading feature that improves performance while processing multiple live channels. Following the update, users will experience faster playback responsiveness while performing region edits and previewing Apple Loops.
"Flex Pitch editing can be performed within the Tracks area using a Piano Roll interface," says Apple. "A collection of 30 plug-ins have been redesigned to add Retina support and improve usability."
The app offers improved reliability while downloading extra content. Users will have the option to download additional content through the Apple Loops browser and Sound Library.
The Drum Machine designer now supports drag and drop of multiple audio files. Users will be able to automatically create lanes that display MIDI events in a region via the Step Editor.
The update also brings improved VoiceOver support.
Logic Pro X is available from the Mac App Store for $199.99. The software is compatible with OS X 10.9 or above.
MainStage 3
MainStage 3 is a live-performance companion app for Logic Pro X. The app has a full-screen interface optimized for live performance, flexible hardware control and an expansive collection of sounds and plug-ins that are entirely compatible with Logic Pro X.
The latest version of the app (3.2.3) brings 27 plug-ins, which Apple has redesigned to support Retina and also improve usability.
The software update brings a number of Alchemy improvements, including support for Apple Loops and 11 latest spectral effects.
