'Zenith' RPG Makes Top 30 Steam Greenlight Games Ahead Of Q2 Release On PC, PS4 And Xbox One

Zenith is one-of-a-kind RPG that quickly went up the ranks of Steam's Greenlight games, reaching top 30 in a really short time.

The unusual RPG comes from a fruitful partnership between Hamburg-based Infinigon and Bengaluru-based Holy Cow Productions, and was on the lips of everyone at E3 2015, when Microsoft representatives announced the quirky title during a press conference.

At E3 2015, the only information that reached the media was that the game will go live on Xbox One "soon," with distant hopes of a PS4 and PC versions looming in the geeky air. No details surfaced on the pricing of the RPG title at the time.

Today, we know a tad more about the epic adventures that you, the player, will experience in the Zenith universe.

First of all, Badland Indie is at the reins when it comes to publishing duties. The company already has notable experience working with independent developers whose aim is to see their titles going mainstream. One notable title under Badland Indie's belt is the popular 2D cyberpunk sidescroller, Dex, which got published in 2015.

Second of all, the involvement of Badland Indie means that there is a great chance for all three major platforms, namely Xbox One, PS4 and PC, to get the title simultaneously.

One of the big pluses that Zenith has is its innate sense of humor (read "stupendous self-irony") and unorthodox approach to the RPG genre. That's likely why it already made it to the top 30 Steam Greenlight games, as Badland Indie announced.

"The game is more about the humor. It is based in the cynical point of view of our main character and the way he engages conflicting situations," Cristian Pastor from Infinigon declared for NDTV's Gadgets 360.

The main protagonist, who is called Argus, struggles with the standard adventure, but it does it in its own unique way. This might mean that an element of choice – a very popular trend in current RPGs – might be present. We could even see different endings to the game, based on the player's choice.

"We like to use this as an example: Imagine the Lord of the Rings but this time it's Dr. House, who needs to destroy the ring! [...] How he is going to assume this terrible responsibility?" Pastor asks rhetorically.

We cannot vouch for anyone else, but we are anxious to find out.
