DC's Legends of Tomorrow premieres this week, so The CW is putting out more trailers to promote the debut of the series.
In a new trailer released by the network, Sara, aka White Canary, holds off an invitation to go to the parking lot of a bar by beating up the guy who asked her to join him there (granted, he did ask rudely). Captain Cold offers to help, but it's obvious that White Canary doesn't need it.
Meanwhile, Ray Palmer, the Atom, worries that he and his friends aren't really needed by anybody. Also, Hawkgirl makes mention that, until recently, she was a barista. Somehow, the team comes together thanks to Rip Hunter, who needs this group of outcasts to help him save the future of the world.
The Legends of Tomorrow team features a diverse cast from The CW's other superhero shows, Arrow and The Flash. In addition to White Canary, Captain Cold, Rip Hunter and Hawkgirl, the series will also feature Hawkman, Dr. Martin Stein and Jefferson "Jax" Jackson (who, together, make up Firestorm) and Heat Wave.
In Legends of Tomorrow, Rip brings the team together to face Vandal Savage. Although the character "died" on Arrow, it's likely he'll get brought back, thanks to help from Malcolm Merlyn. In Legends, Vandal starts laying out his evil plan that will destroy the world's future. However, Arrow's villainous Damien Darhk will also put in an appearance on the series, although it will be the 1970s version of the character.
The 15-episode series will also feature a lot of big budget special effects, thanks to its shortened season. Expect lots of fighting and explosions, along with a variety of stunning visual effects.
Although Legends of Tomorrow has its roots in The Flash and Arrow, the new series will still appeal to viewers who haven't seen episodes of either of those shows.
"I don't think you need to watch Arrow and Flash to appreciate what it is Legends has to offer," said Wentworth Miller, who portrays Captain Cold, to IGN. "The beauty of this show — and they do this on Flash, and they did this on Arrow — is that we do spend time on character. We do spend time on backstory. We do take a moment in between the sci-fi special effects to tell you who these people are, so that when something happens to them, you actually care."
Legends of Tomorrow premieres on The CW on Jan. 21.
