The Wolf Link Amiibo is even more important than previously thought. Twilight Princess players will need it in order access a new dungeon being made for the HD remake of the classic Zelda game.
Zelda: Twilight Princess HD is due to arrive on Wii U on March 4, Nintendo revealed last November. In confirming the rumored released of the HD remake of the game, Nintendo also stated that the Wolf Link Amiibo will carry over save game to the brand-new Zelda game that was push out of 2015 into yet-to-be confirmed date this year.
Now, thanks to the notoriously leaky Amazon France, there is more news about Wolf Link's utility. It appears Amazon France has removed the part of the listing detailing how else Wolf Link can be used, but not before the folks over at Neogaf and Nintendo Life had time to get the messages and toss it through a translator.
"Unlock bonuses with The Legend of Zelda amiibos," stated the now removed text. "Tap all the amiibos for the Zelda series to unlock bonuses in the game, such as regenerating your life, or getting arrows for your bow. The new Wolf Link amiibo even allows you to get into a new dungeon: The Twilight Cave. The data recorded on this Amiibo can even be transfered to the next episode on Wii U.
Zelda: Twilight Princess HD is a remake of a game that was the GameCube's swan song, and it also helped put the Wii off to a solid start. The Amazon France listing also spilled a few more unconfirmed details about the HD remake.
Hero mode, introduced in Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, will return in Twilight Princess HD and players won't have to unlock the feature -- it'll be available from the start. On top of that, the game will make use of the display on the Wii U's gamepad. That's where the inventory will be displayed.
While Zelda: Twilight Princess HD has a solid release date, The Legend of Zelda Wii U still needs one.
