We already knew the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact was a powerful handset in a small package, but it never hurts to have more proof of its achievements. Take this awesome demo video, for instance.
Sony has plenty to boast about when it comes to its Xperia Z5 line, and it doesn't even have to be the Xperia Z5 Premium model. Sure, the Z5 Premium rocks a whopping 4K display, but that doesn't mean that the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact are not impressive on their own.
The Sony Xperia Z3 was highly praised and widely considered one of the best Android smartphones of its time, but its successor was quite a disappointment. Launched as the Xperia Z4 in Japan and the Xperia Z3+ in global markets, the handset didn't bring big enough improvements to be worth the upgrade. The Xperia Z5 line, however, tells a whole different story.
The latest flagship smartphones from Sony stirred some big waves in the industry, particularly when it comes to the camera department. With a whopping 23-megapixel main camera, the Xperia Z5 smartphone is considered Sony's best camera phone ever.
The Xperia Z5 Compact rocks the same 23-megapixel shooter as its big brother, proving once again that "mini" devices don't have to come with watered-down specs.
"For those who prefer a compact smartphone, Xperia Z5 Compact brings the same great camera technology and features in a pocket-friendly compact device. It delivers uncompromised performance in a beautifully compact design with a 4.6-inch display perfect for one-handed use," Sony highlighted in a press release back in September 2015 when it announced the Xperia Z5 lineup.
While talking about camera technology is a good way of letting people know what to expect from a handset, actually demonstrating the technology is worth more than a thousand words. That's exactly what Sony did in its latest video to show what the Xperia Z5 Compact's camera can do.
"As part of our recent photography trip to Rise Ski & Snowboard Festival in Les Deux Alpes, France, we created a 360-degree video shot entirely with 12x Xperia Z5 Compact devices, each filming simultaneously in 4K (by our count, that's a total of 48Ks)," Sony explains.

The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact comes with a 4.6-inch HD display (1,280 x 720) and packs a powerful octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor under the hood, coupled with 2 GB of RAM. Other specs include 32 GB of built-in storage space, expandable via microSD; a 23-megapixel rear camera that can shoot 4K footage, as seen in the demo video above; and a 2,700 mAh battery to keep it all up and running. Being an Xperia Z smartphone, the Xperia Z5 Compact also features IP68 certification for water-resistance and extra durability.
