All of that talk about Daredevil Season 2 premiering the same day as Batman v Superman? Chalk that up to one of those rare Internet rumors that wound up being false, because the streaming service just released a moody teaser for the show’s next season, along with word on its official premiere date: March 18.
So now we have a date, but what about that teaser? Well, it’s short, mostly recycling dialogue from the first season, all set to painted imagery of Daredevil’s world inside a church.
As the teaser pulls out, though, and reveals a large mural of DD and his supporting cast, an ominous skull is transposed over everything, followed by the mood being shattered by a hail of bullets. Nice piece of work, Punisher. You shouldn’t have signed it.
Here’s how Netflix describes the second season of Daredevil:
Just when Matt thinks he is bringing order back to the city, new forces are rising in Hell’s Kitchen. Now the Man Without Fear must take on a new adversary in Frank Castle and face an old flame – Elektra Natchios.
Bigger problems emerge when Frank Castle, a man looking for vengeance, is reborn as The Punisher, a man who takes justice into his own hands in Matt’s neighborhood. Meanwhile, Matt must balance his duty to his community as a lawyer and his dangerous life as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, facing a life-altering choice that forces him to truly understand what it means to be a hero.
Again, you can catch Daredevil Season 2 on March 18.
