Over the past few decades, Mario games have gone from notoriously tricky (Super Mario Bros. 3) to relatively tame (Super Mario 3D Land). Sure, there may be a few tough stages here and there, but for the most part, Mario games are designed so that everyone can beat them - not just fans who've been playing the games for twenty years.
Of course, clever gamers will always find a way to up the challenge if it isn't quite hard enough: while this usually means playing the game in a very specific way, some go even further. For instance, why not play through Dark Souls with a Rock Band guitar peripheral, or perhaps a Donkey Konga bongo set?
But not everyone wants to play through an RPG - so, if you ever thought that Super Mario Galaxy wasn't tough enough, you can take a Nintendo Wii, hook it up to a Dance Dance Revolution arcade cabinet, rewire the buttons, and play through Super Mario Galaxy using nothing but your feet.
