Something that always seems to go well with Marvel is LEGO, and thanks to one fan of both, we now have a fake trailer for Captain America: Civil War done entirely in the colorful bricks.
Created by YouTube user JimA73, the Captain America: Civil War LEGO trailer is a perfect shot-by-shot rendition of the original movie trailer now showing all over the Internet and in movie theaters. It's done so well that it's hard to believe the movie isn't a LEGO movie (and it might even make fans long for a Marvel movie done entirely in the bricks).
Here is the trailer in all its LEGO glory, complete with voiceovers by the actors from the original film trailer, including Chris Evans, Robert Downey, Jr., Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson.
Here's the original movie trailer for comparison:
Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron leaves off. With Bucky now alive and heroes becoming normal for the world, there are people who want to make sure that there are new laws in place to keep those with superpowers in check.
Of course, Captain America doesn't want anything to do with this new law that would see all superheroes registered with the appropriate governing bodies: he believes that it violates the very freedom that he swore to protect. This puts him at odds with his fellow Avengers, including Tony Stark (aka Iron Man).
Captain America: Civil War will also feature many other Avengers characters, including Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), The Vision (Paul Bettany), War Machine (Don Cheadle) and Ant-Man (Paul Rudd).
However, two fellow Avengers — Thor and Hulk — won't appear in Civil War. Marvel felt that the two characters were too strong and would create a fight that wasn't fair or balanced.
"You put those guys in a fight, it's over quickly. It's like, 'Well, we have the Hulk on our side.' Oh, fine, then," said Civil War screenwriter Christopher Markus to Entertainment Weekly. "You've got to kind of choose your roster depending on what kind of fight you want to have," he added.
Captain America: Civil War brings its battle to theaters on May 6.
